Week 8

It is so good to be back on board, I do apologise for the delay in updating this blog, hopefully the germs have gone and I am back to full health and blogging. Thank you to Janine Sweetapple who manned the fort so well while I was unwell.

Welcome to Rhys who joined Room 1 last week, we are so pleased to have him joining our class.

This week is a short week, we will not have t-ball after school on Thursday as it is Easter Friday the next day. Please remember that school is also closed next Monday and Tuesday. Easter falling outside the usual holiday break hasn't happened for many years .

Wednesday sees Rita Palmer(literacy adviser) visiting some rooms, assisting teachers with their
writing programs.

Our sound of the week this week is Rr
Our word of the week is 'come'
I do hope that you all have a wonderful relaxing Easter break.

Kind regards
Annette

Week 6

What fun we had at the "try-athlon"  it was such great weather and helped to make the day so special for us all.

This week we have had Rita Palmer visiting classrooms, assisting teachers with their writing programs. Rita is a Literacy adviser, she will be visiting our classroom often through out the year.

Tuesday saw Raewyn Harris teaching in Room 1. Twice a term teachers get a day called CRT - this means Classroom Release Time, this time is used to carry out testing, visit other rooms, etc, things that we can't after school hours. Raewyn is the person who usually will be in the classroom's for this release time at Bledisloe School.

Our sound of the week is 'Hh'
Our word of the week is 'here'
The maths focus remains the same - becoming confident at recognising and understanding what makes a number ( not just being able to count )

Children ready to begin the Try-athlon.

Please can you send togs along daily - as the weather cools we won't swim each day, but we will make a decision at lunchtime each day. Thank you for your help with this.

Enjoy your week
Annette

Week 5

The weather is certainly being kind to us, let's hope it stays fine for our" try-athlon" on Friday at 11.15. ( weather permitting) As the notice home mentioned, could children please have shoes that are easy to put on and off, their sunhat, and togs and a towel, if they have a rash shirt already that would be most helpful.
Could you please ensure that all your child's clothing is named with their name, it makes it so much easier for us to get the right piece of clothing back to it owner.
On Monday  Dinah Harvey, the maths adviser visited, she was assisting teachers with their strategies to teach basic number facts to children, so they understand what the facts mean, not just the answers.
Our sound of the week is "Bb"
Cutting with scissors is great for helping us strengthen the muscles that help us to hold a pencil.
Our word of the week is "the"

Shae is practising writing the letter B
These are some of our fingerprint people, they are special just like us.
Our classroom is beginning to look great with the children's art and crafts brightening up the environment and making it their special place.

Please remember if you have any queries or questions , fell free to ask, I am only to happy to answer
these.

Kind regards
Annette
